In crush tests, test samples are crushed between plates to measure strength. There are five main types of tests.

- Vertical Crush Strength (CCT): Determining the maximum force that the specimen can withstand against vertical pressure. Its unit is kN/m.

- Surface Crush Strength (CMT): Determining the maximum force that the sample can withstand against the pressure applied perpendicular to its surface. Its unit is N.

- Annular Crush Strength (RCT): Determining the maximum force that the cylindrical specimen can withstand against the applied pressure in the vertical direction.

- Edge Crush Strength (ECT): Determining the maximum force that the corrugated cardboard sample can withstand against the pressure applied parallel to its grooves. Its unit is kN/m.

- Surface Crush Strength (FCT): Determining the maximum force that corrugated cardboard can withstand against the pressure applied perpendicular to its surface. Its unit is kPa.
