Determination of Tin Tin Plate Weight

Determination of Tin Plate Weight (For Body and Lid Each)

Many different packaging materials are used in the food industry, depending on the structure of the food. Especially tin cans are one of the most preferred packaging materials for canned products. While producing tin packaging, tin plates coated with tin on both surfaces are used to prevent corrosion.

Some tests and analyzes are carried out on the tin plates used within the scope of food safety. One of these tests is the "Detection of Tin Plate Weight (For Each Body and Lid)" test. The purpose of the said analysis is to determine whether the plates used in the production of tin packaging are coated with tin adequately and appropriately.

The coating weight of the tin plate is determined by comparing the weights of the tin plated tin plate with the non-tin plated tin plate. Even if the amount of tin prevents corrosion, it may cause chemical substance to enter the food by migration. For this reason, tin packages are evaluated in terms of tin coating weight before use.
