Enterobacteriaceae is one of the microorganisms associated with spoilage of many foods and beverages. "Enterobacteriaceae Count" is important within the scope of microorganism tests that are frequently analyzed in food products. Enterobacteriaceae cause food spoilage with their proliferation and growth in foods and health problems with the consumption of spoiled foods.
There can be many reasons for the presence of microorganisms in foods. Naturally, every food has a certain microorganism load. During food production, it is aimed to reduce the microorganism loads by processes such as heat treatment and additive addition. In addition to these processes, the storage and packaging processes of the produced foods are also important in terms of contamination.
Packaging materials used in food packaging must also be microbiologically appropriate and stored in hygienic areas. Cross contamination from packaging materials and microorganism contamination of foods is not desired. For this reason, microorganism tests can be performed on packages.
