Paint Penetration Test

The main task of the packaging is to protect the product it contains from environmental factors such as heat, light and humidity, as well as physical and chemical foreign substances. For this reason, one of the most performed packaging tests is the "Paint Penetration Test". With the dye penetration test, it is aimed to detect the defects and leakage possibilities at the closing and joining points of the packages.

Dye penetration testing is generally based on visual evaluation. It is one of the important test parameters in food and medical packaging. Especially in sterile medical products, with dye penetration test, leaks can be detected and precautions can be taken for packaging. If the packaging used for medical devices has passed the dye penetration test, we can say that it protects the product from harmful biological and particulate contaminants.

In the dye penetration test, a dye penetrant solution is applied locally from the junction edge to the package to be tested. After a certain period of time, it is visually checked and any leaks are detected.
