ASTM D5663-15 guideline covers test method for determining the recycled content of Folding cardboard, prepackaged cardboard, linear cardboard for use in corrugated containers, carrier cardboard, bag paper, and other related wrapping paper and cardboard products.

The scope of the standard aims to detect and verify the recycled content of packaging paper and cardboard products. In general, there is no method for determining the physical or chemical recycling content for a paper product.

This test method is based on determining the amount of recycled content using a mass balance approach. % calculations to test coverage are based on lb/tonne or kg/tonne with time frame limited by machine and quality.
