ASTM F1884-04

The test method within the scope of the ASTM F1884-04 standard aims to measure the volatile organic compounds emitted by packaging ink and adhesive packaging at high temperatures. Within the scope of the test method, the amount of residual solvent emitted by the sample in a closed environment under certain time and temperature conditions is determined.

With the detection of volatile organic compounds in the packages, information about the product can be obtained. Different production methods, different packaging types can be preferred. Test results can be obtained by using devices such as gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy, gas chromatography/infrared spectroscopy during test procedures.
