ASTM F1927 – 20

Standard Test Method for Determining Oxygen Gas Transmission Rate, Permeability, and Permeability in Barrier Materials at Controlled Relative Humidity Using a Coulometric Detector

ASTM F1927 – 20

ASTM F1927-20 standard specifies the required test method for determining the oxygen transmission rate in materials that can be used in packaging such as films, sheets, laminates, co-extrusions, or plastic-coated papers or fabrics at a specified RH level at a specified temperature.

The oxygen transmission rate of the packaging materials is an important data for the protection of the products in it. Especially the amount of moisture is one of the most important factors affecting the oxygen gas transmission rate. The following data can be obtained with this test method:

- Oxygen Gas Transmission Rate
- Permeability of the Film to Oxygen Gas
- Coefficient of Permeability to the Thickness of the Film
- Oxygen Permeability
