It is prepared for the non-destructive detection of leaks that cannot be detected visually within the scope of ASTM F2338-09 standard. Instead of using foreign substances such as paint or gas in test processes, pressure changes in the package are observed in a test room.

It is a method applied especially for comparing different packaging types.
