Packaging materials produced as child-resistant should be subjected to panel tests as well as laboratory tests. In order to test whether the packages are child resistant, a panel test of 42 – 51 months old children should normally be carried out. Under Child Resistant Packaging Requirements and Test Procedures, sample packages must not be opened by at least 80% of children for 10 minutes. tested by adults without the condition.
