ASTM D 4003-98 standard includes the required test method for determining the ability of a package and a product to withstand horizontal impact forces from a simulated environment. The main purpose is to simulate the situations that may occur during the transportation and transportation stages of the product packaging.
These are test procedures carried out in order to detect beforehand the damage to both the packaging and the product inside in cases such as falling, hitting during the storage, transportation and transportation stages of the products after packaging.
This standard does not purport to address all, if any, security issues associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions prior to use.
