The ISO 15119 standard has been prepared with the aim of helping bag designers and users to choose the right bag type for the products to be packaged. Test methods within the scope of the standard are used to compare different designs and filling degrees of sacks.
In the sacks to be selected for the products to be packed, the inclined plane method determines the consistent coefficient of friction of one sack layer against a second stacked sack layer, especially palletized sacks.
The pendulum method and the tilting plane method are suitable methods for testing the frictional behavior of a single bag. Standards referred to under ISO 15119:
• ISO 2233 , Packaging - Complete, filled transport packages and unit loads - Conditioning for testing
• ISO 2244 , Packaging - Complete, filled transport packages and unit loads - Horizontal impact tests
• ISO 7023 , Packaging - Sacks - Method of sampling from empty bags for testing
