Woven Polypropylene Bags for Bulk Packaging of Foodstuffs

ISO 23560

The “ISO 23560: Woven polypropylene sacks for bulk packaging of foodstuffs” standard includes the general characteristics, requirements and test methods of 50 kg and 25 kg polypropylene (PP) sacks produced for the transportation and storage of foodstuffs such as grains, sugar, pulses.

An International Standard is needed for the packaging, transportation and storage of foods such as cereals, sugar and pulses, especially in international sales. Propylene (PP) sacks are the most suitable packaging type for this type of food. These PP sacks also need to meet some requirements for their use.

Within the scope of ISO 23560 standard, the construction of sacks, their dimensions and appropriate test methods for long-term storage and transportation of foodstuffs in sacks are explained. The test methods specified in the standard content are applied to woven PP sacks with a capacity of 50 kg or 25 kg for the transport and storage of foodstuffs.
