ASTM D3078 – Standard Test Method for Determining Leaks in Flexible Packages by Bubble Emission

The bubble emission method is a method for detecting leaks in flexible packages by means of bubble emission, containing a headspace or some gas in the package. It is an ideal method for packages with air and air. The packaging sample is placed in the device, immersed in water, and the evaluation is made by observing whether air bubbles are formed. If air bubbles are observed, the packaging can be said to be defective.
